Things are gearing up here on the farm.  Dahlia_Barn_tubers

Shipping has begun to warmer climates such as Southern California, Florida, Hawaii, etc.  The Central United States will begin shipping around early April.  The Northeast is still in the grips of one of the worst winters that they’ve seen in years.  Shipping to that area will be more in the late April /early May time frame.  It will be awhile before they can plant.  There is still lots of time to get your order in for this season, we’ll continue to take orders and ship orders until early June.  Don’t miss out on these beauties in your yard this fall.

Colorful_Vases    Dahlias are the best for lots of reasons.  First being, they are more of a fall flower than a summer flower.  Dahlias come on after most everything is done blooming for the year.  In our area of Washington State, they begin to bloom in late August, September is really their prime season, and they continue to bloom until around mid-October, or until the rains come back and beat them down.  They make a stunning display for your table or to give to your neighbors, take into work, etc.  You’ll have people green with envy and wanting to grow them in their own yard.  When your dahlias are in bloom, one of the most important thing is to cut them!  CUT THEM !  Because the more you cut them, the more they will bloom.  They are work horses and they love it!
