A dahlia we have been rebuilding stock on for years, and are happy to bring it back for Spring 2027.  White flowers with just a hint of lavender towards the edges and center.  Lots of firm petals on the flower.  Sturdy grower.

Description

    • Growers Notes:

        • Dahlias are planted in spring, after the soil has warmed up to 60 degrees
        • Plant around the same time you would plant tomato plants and other warm season crops
        • Add a 3″- 4″ layer of bagged steer manure or compost on the garden bed, and till/mix in.
        • Plant dahlia tubers horizontal (sideways) in an area that receives 6-8 hours of sunlight per day.
        • Wet Climates: No extra water until sprout is 5”-6” tall, normal spring rains will give the soil and your tubers all the moisture it needs.  Tubers will rot in soggy soils
        • Dry Climates:  Your tubers need moisture in the soil to grow.  If your soil is dry during the spring, water lightly once a week to add and retain moisture in the soil
        • After the dahlia sprout is 6” tall, deep soak every 2-3 days
        • Fertilizer:  Use a slow release, organic fertilizer when you plant, with a low nitrogen number ( low 1st number)  Apply a 5-10-10  granular fertilizer 30 – 60 days after you plant.
